White Supremacists in Florida

Article on MSN about white supremacists in Florida, the url says it all: http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/08/11601679-white-supremacists-accused-of-planning-for-race-war-in-florida?threadId=3413814&commentId=65690040#c65690040

My comment to it below. Leveraging this latest racist exposé, I suggest we break up the idea that race is a strict category and instead revisit identity as a fluid social construction.

“Definitely a terrorist group. If they were conspiring to randomly kill Americans (and I propose that picking someone based on race is random because not every black man is the same) that’s a threat to our nation.”

If we can engage these active open angry racists, we may be able to diffuse the hate. This requires us to take responsibility for ourselves and perhaps focus on our own race before telling other racist groups what is wrong with them. Lead by example. The map above shows hate groups in America. They are not all white groups by the way.
